Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (see schedule note below)

ABOUT THE ROLE
CottonImages is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to make sure every garment that leaves our facility meets our customers’ expectations. You’ll oversee quality across our screen printing and custom apparel production floor — from the moment materials come in until finished products are packed and ready to ship. This is a hands-on leadership role. You won’t have direct reports in the traditional sense, but you’ll have the authority to direct the quality work of our production staff, hold operators accountable to our standards, and recommend or initiate termination of staff who aren’t meeting expectations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Production to keep the floor running smoothly.
Prior experience in screen printing or the apparel industry is a plus, but it’s not required. We’re more interested in finding the right person — someone with a strong eye for detail, good judgment, and the confidence to lead. We’ll train you on the technical side and give you the support you need to succeed.
A NOTE ON THE SCHEDULE
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, this is a salaried management position, which means you’ll work the hours the job requires. When we have a large order running, when shipping deadlines are tight, or when production needs you on the floor, we’ll expect you to be there — sometimes earlier, sometimes later. We try to keep things predictable, but production demands aren’t always predictable, and the QC Manager role flexes with them.WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Inspect incoming garments and printing supplies before production starts. Check that everything matches what was ordered, that colors look correct, and that materials are free from defects.
- Monitor print jobs while they’re running on the production floor. Watch for color accuracy (matching specific color codes called Pantone numbers when needed), proper alignment, and consistent print quality from the first piece to the last.
- Perform quality checks at each stage of production — before printing, during printing, and after drying — to catch problems early before they multiply.
- Inspect finished garments for issues like smudged prints, missing colors, misaligned designs, holes, stains, or wrong sizes. Pull defective pieces, document them, and coordinate reprints or corrections with the production supervisors.
- Keep accurate daily records of quality checks, defect counts, and production data using our internal tracking systems.
- Communicate directly with press operators and production staff. Address quality issues as they happen, give clear feedback, and provide guidance on how to correct problems.
- Direct the quality work of production staff, hold them accountable to our standards, and recommend or initiate termination of staff who consistently fail to meet expectations — in coordination with the Head of Production.
- Audit how the team is following our standard procedures for printing, drying temperatures, garment handling, and packaging.
- Track patterns in quality issues over time and report findings to management with recommendations for how we can improve.
- Make sure finished products are correctly folded, bagged, labeled, and packaged to meet customer and shipping requirements.
- Keep your quality control workstation and inspection area clean, organized, and safe.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A sharp eye for detail. You notice things other people miss, and you don’t let small problems slide.
- Strong judgment under pressure. When the floor is busy and orders are moving fast, you stay calm and make good decisions.
- The confidence to lead. You’re comfortable telling someone their work isn’t meeting standards and explaining what needs to change.
- Excellent communication in both Spanish and English. You’ll need to clearly explain quality standards and corrective feedback to production staff.
- Reliable and punctual. The team needs you on the floor when production is running.
- Comfortable on your feet. The role involves standing and walking on the production floor for most of the day.
- Basic computer skills for logging reports and tracking quality data. We’ll train you on our specific systems.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. — all legal documents must be current and valid.
- Must pass a background check prior to hire.
NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)
- Previous experience in quality control, production inspection, or a manufacturing role.
- Experience in the screen printing or apparel industry.
- Familiarity with color matching and Pantone color codes.
- Any prior experience leading or directing the work of others.
WHAT IT’S LIKE WORKING HERE
We want to be straight with you about our environment so there are no surprises on day one. Cotton Images is a working screen printing factory. The production floor gets warm — especially near the curing equipment, and especially in the summer. We do everything we can to keep things comfortable: we run fans, manage airflow, and make sure water is always available. But at the end of the day, it’s a hot environment, and that’s part of the job.The role involves being on the production floor most of the day — standing, walking, and inspecting garments as they move through the process. If you’ve worked in a production or warehouse setting before, this will feel familiar. If you haven’t, we want you to know upfront what to expect so you can decide if it’s the right fit.
We’re a stable, family-feeling company that’s been doing this for over 35 years. We work hard, we take care of each other, and we take pride in what we ship out the door.
